Privacy Policy

Inkhaunt is a place for artists to share their work. We collect as little data as possible, we never sell it, we don't show ads, and we never use your work to train AI.

Who we are

Inkhaunt is run by Diana van der Schouw, based in the Netherlands. For anything about your data, email hello@inkhaunt.com.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, username and password (stored encrypted; we can't see it).
• Profile: display name, bio and profile photo, if you add them. These are public.
• Your work: the files you upload with their title, description, tags and size. Public, unless hidden by moderation.
• Activity: who you follow (public) and reports you send (private).
• Settings: whether you confirmed you're 18 or older (private, never shown to others).
• Technical data: our hosting providers keep short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.

Why we use it

• To run your account and show your work: needed to provide the service (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
• To keep the site safe, prevent abuse and handle reports: our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
• To meet legal obligations, such as the EU Digital Services Act: art. 6(1)(c).

We don't use analytics or tracking, and we don't build profiles of you.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed to keep you logged in. There are no tracking or advertising cookies, which is why you don't see a cookie banner.

Who processes your data for us

• Supabase: database and login (servers in the EU, Paris).
• Cloudflare: storage of uploaded files (EU storage location).
• Vercel: hosting of the website (our server code runs in the EU, Paris; pages are delivered through their worldwide network).
• Cloudflare and Google: emails you send to our contact address are forwarded by Cloudflare to our Gmail inbox.

These are US companies. Where data could be accessed from outside the EU, they rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

• As long as you have an account.
• When you delete your account in Settings, your account, profile, work and files are deleted right away. Backups held by our providers are overwritten within about 30 days.
• Reports you sent about others are kept without your name, so moderation decisions stay traceable.
• In exceptional cases we may keep content longer, for example when it was removed as possibly illegal and we're required to preserve it for the authorities.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings; for anything else, email hello@inkhaunt.com. We respond within one month. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Young users

You need to be at least 13 to create an account. Mature content is only shown to users who confirm they're 18 or older, and users under 18 can't post it.

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way, we'll let you know on the site or by email.
